First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This early-stage study tests a procedure called deep brain stimulation (DBS) for people with early Alzheimer's disease. It involves implanting a device that sends mild electrical pulses to a brain area involved in memory. The goal is to see if DBS can keep thinking and memory stable or improved for at least two years. The study will include 12 participants, half receiving DBS and half receiving standard care as a comparison.
