Can brain scans and zaps tame negative thoughts?

NCT ID NCT05437705

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study aims to understand brain patterns linked to negative emotions in people with depression or anxiety. Researchers will use brain scans to create a personal 'negative emotion map' for each of the 40 participants. Then, they will test different types of magnetic brain stimulation to find which one best reduces these negative feelings. The goal is to see if personalized stimulation can improve mood and reduce rumination.
