Hand surgery study tests if decision tools reduce patient uncertainty

NCT ID NCT01693094

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving patients extra decision-making tools helps them feel more satisfied and less conflicted about their treatment for common hand conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome or trigger finger. About 126 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care or special decision aids. The goal is to see if these tools improve how patients feel about their choices and their overall outcomes.
