New combo therapy aims to boost vision in diabetic eye disease
NCT ID NCT07438119
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding a steroid implant (DEX) to the standard anti-VEGF injection (aflibercept) works better than aflibercept alone for people with diabetic macular edema who have not had prior treatment. About 114 participants will be followed for 12 months to see if the combo improves vision and reduces retinal swelling more effectively. The goal is to find a more precise treatment approach for those with signs of inflammation.
