New scan technique could reveal cancer drug effectiveness in days
NCT ID NCT01224288
First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tests whether a special type of CT scan (DCE-CT) can show if targeted therapy for advanced kidney cancer is working, just days after starting treatment. About 120 adults with metastatic renal cell carcinoma who are already in another treatment study will get these scans. The goal is to see if early changes in tumor blood flow predict how well the drugs are working, without directly treating the cancer.
