First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests whether a drug-coated balloon works as well as a drug-coated stent in people having a severe heart attack (STEMI). About 1,244 adults will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments during emergency artery-opening procedures. The goal is to see which approach better prevents death, stroke, another heart attack, or the need for repeat procedures.
