Brain implant trial offers hope for kids with untreatable seizures

NCT ID NCT06924086

Summary

This study is testing whether a surgically implanted brain stimulation device can reduce seizure frequency in children with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a severe form of epilepsy. Children aged 5-14 who haven't responded to medications will have the device implanted and be randomly assigned to have it turned on immediately or after a delay. The trial measures how much the device reduces seizures and improves quality of life.
