NCT ID NCT07526155
First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tested two different spots in the brain for deep brain stimulation (DBS) to treat essential tremor, a condition that causes shaking. Eleven adults who did not get relief from medication received stimulation in both the posterior subthalamic area (PSA) and the ventral intermediate nucleus (VIM) to see which worked better. The goal was to compare how well each target controlled tremors, how safe they were, and how much energy they used.
