New study explores Dapagliflozin's effects on transplanted kidneys

NCT ID NCT06560801

First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether dapagliflozin, a diabetes drug, can improve kidney structure and blood flow in people with reduced kidney function one year after a kidney transplant. About 48 participants will be randomly assigned to take dapagliflozin or not, and researchers will examine routine biopsy samples and MRI scans. The goal is to understand how the drug affects inflammation, scarring, and blood supply in the transplanted kidney.
