Summary
This study tested whether dapagliflozin, a drug used for diabetes, can improve heart structure and be safe in people with kidney failure who are on dialysis. 220 adults on maintenance dialysis (with or without diabetes) received either the drug or a placebo. The goal was to see if the drug could reduce heart muscle thickening, a common problem in dialysis patients.
