Can a diabetes pill stop a common heart rhythm problem?

Summary
This study tests whether the drug dapagliflozin, usually used for diabetes, can reduce the return of atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) after a procedure called cardioversion. About 1,600 adults with AF who are scheduled for cardioversion will take either dapagliflozin or no extra drug for up to 56 days. Researchers will track heart rhythms using a handheld device to see if the drug helps keep the heart in normal rhythm.
