Heart rhythm drug trial aims to keep patients out of AFib

NCT ID NCT07187570

Summary

This study is testing if a diabetes drug, dapagliflozin, can help keep a normal heart rhythm after a procedure to fix atrial fibrillation (AFib). It will enroll 1,600 adults aged 55+ who are scheduled for an electric cardioversion. Participants will take dapagliflozin or receive usual care for up to 56 days and use a handheld device to monitor their heart rhythm to see if the drug reduces AFib recurrence.
