Blood protein test may predict chemo success in older cancer patients

NCT ID NCT06439199

First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether certain proteins in the blood (called cytokines) can help predict how well older or sicker patients with acute myeloid leukemia, high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome, or chronic myelomonocytic leukemia will do on a gentler type of chemotherapy. Researchers will measure these proteins before and during treatment in 60 adults. The goal is to find clues that could guide future treatment decisions, not to test a new therapy.
