Can special insoles finally ease chronic foot pain?

NCT ID NCT06962475

First seen Feb 14, 2026 · Last updated Jun 05, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether custom-made shoe inserts with a wedge and pad can reduce pain and improve walking in people with chronic metatarsalgia (long-term forefoot pain). About 64 adults with at least 3 months of foot pain will be randomly assigned to receive either custom inserts or fake (sham) inserts. Researchers will measure pain during walking and foot function after 6 and 12 weeks to see if the custom inserts work better.
