Hidden heart risk: loop recorders track dangerous rhythms in blocked artery patients
NCT ID NCT04542460
First seen Mar 22, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looks at how often dangerous heart rhythms happen in people with a chronic total coronary occlusion (a completely blocked heart artery). Researchers will use a small implantable device (loop recorder) to monitor 200 participants over time. The goal is to compare rhythm problems between those who get a procedure to open the blockage plus medication, versus medication alone, and to find what predicts these rhythms.
