Hidden heart danger: new study tracks lethal rhythms in blocked arteries
NCT ID NCT04542460
First seen Mar 22, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looks at how often dangerous heart rhythms happen in people with a chronic total coronary occlusion (a completely blocked heart artery). Researchers will use a small heart monitor (loop recorder) to track rhythms in 200 participants. They compare those who get a procedure to open the blockage plus medication, versus those who get medication alone, to see which approach reduces rhythm problems.
