Blood test may personalize chemo for gut cancers before surgery

Summary
This study explores whether a simple blood test that measures tumor DNA (ctDNA) can help doctors decide if patients with colorectal or appendix cancer need stronger or weaker chemotherapy before surgery. About 48 adults with cancer that has spread to the abdomen will take part. The goal is to see if this test can predict the risk of cancer returning and guide treatment intensity.
