Summary

This study looked at 659 patients who had surgery to fix a bulge in the main belly artery (abdominal aortic aneurysm). Doctors compared two ways to check for problems after surgery: a CT scan (which uses X-rays) and an ultrasound (which uses sound waves). The goal was to see if ultrasound could be a safe and effective alternative to CT scans, which expose patients to radiation and can be costly.
