New scan technique aims to protect nerve during heart procedure

NCT ID NCT07330791

Summary

This study compared two methods for finding the exact location of an important nerve near the heart before a common procedure called ablation. Researchers looked at 80 patients to see if a special CT scan could map the nerve as accurately as the standard method of stimulating it during the procedure. The goal was to see if imaging could help doctors avoid accidentally affecting this nerve, potentially making the procedure safer.
