New study tests if a less invasive scan can spot cancer risks in High-Risk patients

NCT ID NCT00748449

First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a CT scan of the colon (CT colonography) is more acceptable to patients than a standard colonoscopy for finding advanced polyps in people at high risk for colorectal cancer. The study included 39 adults aged 18 to 80 with a personal or family history of advanced polyps or colorectal cancer. The main goal was to see how many patients refused each exam, helping doctors understand which test patients prefer.
