Brain tumor breakthrough? implant during surgery may stop regrowth

Summary
This study tests whether placing a tiny radiation source (Cs-131) in the brain during surgery can prevent recurrent brain tumors from growing back. About 103 adults with previously treated brain metastases who need surgery will be randomly assigned to get surgery alone or surgery plus the implant. The goal is to see if the implant improves local tumor control without increasing complications.
