First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests if freezing the nerves around the knee (cryoneurolysis) one day before total knee replacement surgery can lower pain and help patients move better afterward. About 100 adults with knee arthritis will be randomly assigned to get the freezing procedure plus surgery or surgery alone. Researchers will track their pain and function for 6 months to see if the freezing treatment improves long-term recovery.
