Fat freezing may cool inflammation in Menopause-Related obesity
NCT ID NCT07676279
First seen Jun 30, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study investigates whether cryolipolysis, a non-invasive fat freezing technique, can lower inflammatory markers in obese postmenopausal women. Participants are women aged 50-60 with a BMI of 30-40. The treatment is applied to the lower belly for 30 minutes, and researchers measure changes in blood levels of interleukin-6 and C-reactive protein, which indicate inflammation.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Cryolipolysis (fat freezing device)
- What this could lead to
- If effective, cryolipolysis could offer a non-invasive way to reduce inflammation linked to obesity in postmenopausal women.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study with 46 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The treatment only targets belly fat and may not affect overall health.
