First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests a freezing technique (cryoablation) to treat a common heart rhythm problem called paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AFib). About 200 people who have not been helped by medication will undergo a procedure to freeze small areas of heart tissue, aiming to stop the irregular signals causing their symptoms. The main goals are to see if the treatment is safe and effective at preventing AFib episodes for at least 12 months.
