Summary
This study tested a new plan to find and treat a serious complication called an anastomotic leak after colorectal cancer surgery. The plan used a blood test for C-reactive protein (CRP) to spot patients at high risk. 105 patients with high CRP levels after surgery were included. The goal was to see if this approach could shorten hospital stays and improve outcomes.
