Snake venom protein tested as cancer treatment in early human trial
NCT ID NCT01481532
First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This early-phase trial tests a protein from snake venom (crotoxin) given through an IV to people with advanced solid tumors that no longer respond to standard treatments. The main goal is to see if slowly increasing the dose can reduce side effects and allow higher, potentially more effective doses. The study will also watch for any signs of tumor shrinkage.
