First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tested whether eating house cricket powder before a meal could lower blood sugar spikes in people with type 2 diabetes. Twenty adults on metformin took cricket powder, whey protein, or a placebo mixed into soup. Their blood sugar and insulin were measured for two hours after eating. The goal was to see if cricket powder helps control glucose better than nothing, and as well as whey protein.
