Summary

This study looked at whether taking creatine supplements can improve physical performance and body composition in people who follow a vegan diet. Twenty healthy, active vegans took either creatine or a placebo for four weeks while eating a vegan diet. Researchers measured sprint speed, jump height, and muscle mass to see if the supplement made a difference.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
creatine monohydrate
What this could lead to
If it works, this could show that creatine supplements help vegans improve muscle strength and body composition.
What could go wrong
This is a small, short-term study with only 20 participants. Results may not apply to all vegans, and the supplement may not show significant benefits.
