Can creatine and carbs together boost cycling endurance?
NCT ID NCT07712653
First seen Jul 17, 2026 · Last updated Jul 22, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at whether taking creatine and carbohydrate supplements, alone or together, can help healthy active adults cycle longer before exhaustion. Participants will try each supplement combination and a placebo during separate cycling tests. The goal is to see if these supplements improve endurance more than flavored water.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

- creatine monohydrate and/or carbohydrate supplements
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a simple supplement strategy to boost endurance performance.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study with only 12 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The effects may be small or no different from placebo.
