Chest-Only CPR may be just as good as standard CPR in saving lives
NCT ID NCT03981107
First seen May 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether a simpler form of CPR—using only chest compressions—works as well as standard CPR (compressions plus rescue breaths) for people who collapse from cardiac arrest outside a hospital. About 3,260 adults with witnessed cardiac arrest will be included, and only bystanders with prior CPR training will participate. The main goal is to see if more people survive to 30 days with chest-compression-only CPR.
