Can a sleep machine help heal the heart after a stroke?

NCT ID NCT04458779

Summary

This study tested if using a CPAP machine to treat sleep apnea could help the heart recover in people who recently had a stroke. Researchers followed 71 stroke patients with sleep apnea for a year, measuring heart changes and recovery. The goal was to see if CPAP treatment reduces strain on the heart and lowers the risk of future health problems.
