Simple talk before surgery calms patients waking from anesthesia
NCT ID NCT06686511
Summary
This study tested whether a simple counseling session before nasal surgery could reduce agitation when patients wake up from anesthesia. Researchers worked with 256 adults having nasal procedures, giving half of them special pre-surgery education about what to expect. They measured how agitated patients were upon waking, along with heart rate and blood pressure, to see if the counseling made recovery calmer.
