Core workouts may boost recovery after ACL surgery
NCT ID NCT07328139
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at whether an 8-week core stabilization exercise program can improve balance and trunk endurance in people who had ACL reconstruction surgery. It included 15 people with ACL surgery and 15 healthy individuals, all doing the same exercises twice a week. The goal was to see if core training helps recovery after ACL surgery.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Core stabilization exercise program
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could show that core exercises help people regain balance and strength after ACL surgery, potentially improving rehabilitation programs.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, completed study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It does not test long-term outcomes or compare with other exercise types.
