Summary
This study tested a new way to do a stem cell transplant for people with high-risk multiple myeloma, a hard-to-treat blood cancer. Nineteen patients received a special type of cord blood transplant using a molecule called UM171 to grow more stem cells. The goal was to see if this approach is safe and can help control the disease with fewer side effects than standard transplants.
