Summary

This study tests a new way to do stem cell transplants for people with severe aplastic anemia or a related bone marrow disease called MDS. Participants get a mix of stem cells from a family member and specially grown cord blood cells from an unrelated donor to help the new cells take hold faster. The goal is to make the transplant safer and more effective. The study is for people aged 4 to 60 and involves chemotherapy, radiation, and close follow-up for up to 5 years.
