Cord blood trial aims to boost platelets in cancer patients
NCT ID NCT07441720
Summary
This study is testing whether an infusion of umbilical cord blood can safely help cancer patients whose platelet counts have dropped dangerously low due to their cancer treatments. Researchers will give the infusion to 25 patients aged 12-65 and closely monitor their platelet levels and any side effects for 28 days. The goal is to see if this approach can help the body recover its ability to make platelets, reducing the need for transfusions and the risk of bleeding.
