Can an AI trained on real heart patients outsmart generic chatbots?
NCT ID NCT07766551
First seen Aug 14, 2026 · Last updated Aug 14, 2026
Summary
This study aims to build a specialized AI model, called CorAI, for coronary artery disease (CAD). Researchers will collect de-identified medical data from about 640 patients with suspected or confirmed CAD to create a rich dataset. Using this data, they will develop and test CorAI to see if its recommendations align with clinical guidelines, potentially offering a new tool to support doctors' decisions.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- CorAI, a disease-specific large language model (AI) developed and evaluated using patient data
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could lead to an AI tool that helps doctors make more guideline-aligned decisions for heart disease patients, potentially improving care quality.
- What could go wrong
- The AI model is new and untested in real-world settings. It may not perform as expected or may not generalize beyond the study's specific patient group. There is also a risk of AI errors or biases.
