First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looks at how muscle strength, exercise ability, and oxygen use differ among people with COPD, a pre-COPD condition called PRISm, and healthy adults. Researchers will measure breathing and limb muscle strength, endurance, and oxygen levels in 60 volunteers over age 40. The goal is to better understand these conditions and potentially improve future care.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could help doctors better understand and manage breathing and muscle problems in people with early-stage lung conditions like PRISm.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It will not test any new drug or therapy, so it cannot directly improve health outcomes.
