One scan, two checks: research tests if cancer screenings can spot COPD
NCT ID NCT07482475
Summary
This study aims to learn if the CT scans people get for lung cancer screening can also be used to spot Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Researchers will look at the scans of 200 current and former smokers to see if signs of COPD are present and then confirm the findings with a breathing test. The goal is to gather knowledge that could help find COPD earlier using existing medical scans.
