Short exercise test reveals steady heart and lung response in COPD patients

NCT ID NCT00295113

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looked at how the heart and lungs of 10 people with moderate COPD responded during a 30-minute exercise test with short bursts of high-intensity work. Researchers found that lung blood pressure did not rise sharply and heart output stayed steady after the first 5 minutes. The goal was to better understand the body's response to exercise, not to test a treatment.
