Summary
This study tests whether clinical pharmacists can manage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) as effectively as lung specialists. It involves 4000 patients across five Veterans Affairs medical centers. The goal is to see if a team-based approach using electronic recommendations can improve care quality, prevent serious flare-ups, and reduce hospital visits.
