Can pharmacists ease the burden of COPD care? major VA trial investigates
NCT ID NCT05718102
Summary
This study tests whether clinical pharmacists can manage COPD patients as effectively as lung specialists. Pharmacists and specialists will review patient records and send treatment recommendations to primary care doctors, who then approve or adjust them. The goal is to see if this pharmacist-led approach works as well at preventing serious COPD complications like hospitalizations and improving patients' quality of life.
