Chilling the brain to beat severe stroke: new trial launches

NCT ID NCT07232082

First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether cooling the brain directly through a catheter, combined with standard clot removal, helps people recover from a severe stroke. About 322 adults with a large stroke will be randomly assigned to receive either the cooling plus clot removal or clot removal alone. The goal is to see if more patients can live independently 90 days later.
