New monitor could protect tiniest babies from dangerous blood sugar drops
NCT ID NCT01942239
Summary
This study tested if a continuous glucose monitor worn on the skin could better manage low blood sugar in very small premature babies. 48 babies were randomly assigned to either the new continuous monitor or the standard method of periodic finger-prick tests. The goal was to see if the continuous monitor could catch low blood sugar faster and reduce how long these dangerous episodes last.
