First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tested a special microscope (confocal endomicroscopy) that can be inserted through a bronchoscope to look at lung nodules in real time. The goal was to see if it can find nodules and tell whether they are cancerous or benign without taking a tissue sample. 120 adults with lung nodules participated across three hospitals. The approach could make diagnosis faster and less invasive.
