New scanner aims to sharpen cancer treatment images
NCT ID NCT05524454
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested a new type of CT scanner that takes pictures while a patient lies on the treatment couch during radiation therapy. 41 adults with head and neck, lung, breast, abdominal, or pelvic cancer participated. The goal was to see if the scanner produces clear images that could help doctors target tumors more accurately. This was a feasibility study, not a treatment, so there was no direct benefit to participants.
