Sinus surgery showdown: crush or cut the nasal bubble?
NCT ID NCT06687629
First seen Mar 26, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at 62 adults with chronic sinusitis who also had a concha bullosa (an air pocket inside a nasal bone). During standard sinus surgery, doctors either crushed the air pocket or removed part of it. The goal was to see which method works better long-term and causes fewer problems like scar tissue or the pocket refilling. Patients were followed for one year with questionnaires and nasal exams.
