Socks vs. side effects: can a simple stocking stop chemo nerve pain?

NCT ID NCT07164950

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study tests whether wearing a compression stocking on one foot during chemotherapy can prevent nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy) caused by certain cancer drugs. About 58 adults with advanced cancers will take part, wearing a stocking on their left foot only during each drug infusion. Researchers will compare nerve symptoms between the covered and uncovered foot over 24 months to see if the stocking helps.
