First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests whether a two-week letter-writing exercise focused on self-compassion can help people with eating disorders feel less shame and be more ready for treatment. About 160 adults with anorexia, bulimia, or binge-eating disorder will be randomly assigned to write compassionate letters or to a control group. The goal is to see if this simple practice can improve recovery rates.
