Prostate cancer showdown: robotic surgery vs. sound waves
NCT ID NCT05610852
First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two modern treatments for men with low-to-intermediate risk prostate cancer that hasn't spread: a robotic partial prostatectomy (removing part of the prostate through a single port) and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU, which uses sound waves to destroy cancer cells). The goal is to see which approach better prevents cancer from coming back. About 276 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments.
